Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Payroll Analyst to ensure accurate global payroll processing and reporting. You will support multi-country payroll activities, including U.S. domestic, Canada, and expatriate payrolls, while maintaining strict compliance and leveraging AI tools for process improvements.

The role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and collaboration with HR, Finance, and external vendors. Experience with Workday and ADP is highly valued, with a hybrid work model at RSM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state or international environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll best practices.
• 1-2 years of full payroll cycle experience in Workday.
• Strong understanding of U.S. payroll and taxation, and experience with Canadian payroll processing, reconciliations, and compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, for payroll calculations and reporting.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills for employee support and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to support payroll processing, auditing, research, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile multi-country payrolls, including U.S., Canada, and other global payrolls.
• Serve as the Canada payroll subject matter expert, supporting end-to-end payroll processing, reconciliations, year-end activities, and compliance.
• Manage complex payroll components including expatriate allowances, hypothetical taxes, tax equalization, and gross ups.
• Serve as primary contact for third-party payroll tax vendors (e.g., ADP) for tax filings and year-end reporting.
• Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and reconciliations.
• Ensure payroll procedures comply with federal, state, local, Canadian, and global payroll requirements; stay current with laws.
