Job summary

Brex in Seattle is seeking a Manager, Banking Operations to lead a high‑impact team responsible for money movement and monitoring across multiple rails. You will coach analysts, shape processes, and partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering to scale operations while maintaining controls and compliance in a fast‑growing fintech.

You will work in a hybrid Seattle environment with some remote flexibility and a focus on building scalable, audit‑ready operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in banking operations, payments operations, compliance operations, or related function within regulated financial services with hands-on money movement and audit readiness.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience with coaching and performance improvement.
• Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, Hex, Granola, Glean) to boost team effectiveness and scale in a control-heavy environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Banking Operations analysts by setting priorities and building a high-accountability culture.
• Oversee payment monitoring across Fedwire, SWIFT, ACH, checks, and stablecoins with timely, risk-based decisions.
• Build scalable onboarding, QA, escalation, and coverage plans as the team scales.
• Advance Brex’s AI-native goals by identifying high-impact use cases and adopting AI tools across workflows.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and external banking partners to strengthen controls and readiness for new workflows and products.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying root causes and increasing throughput without compromising control quality.
• Translate frontline insights into reporting and leadership recommendations.
