JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Ocean Export Specialist to facilitate the movement of products via ocean freight, ensuring compliance with laws and internal procedures.

You will handle bookings, rate requests, document production, and interactions with customers, agents, and authorities to support efficient, lawful export operations. Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience handling ocean export shipments.
• Experience in freight forwarding industry preferred.
• Knowledge of Cargo Wise (C1) preferred.
• Ability to think proactively and address work challenges with diplomacy.
• Able to interact professionally with coworkers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/coordinate the necessary documentation for ocean export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pick up/transfer and monitor status.
• Communicate with export related authorities, customers and suppliers.
• Manage/update carrier/vendor rates; obtain spot rates as needed.
• Communicate with overseas agents and clients; provide shipment status updates.
• Track shipments and update customers/agents of status.
• Create and maintain customer files; responsible for invoicing and payables approval.
• Audit files for accuracy and completion; assist other departments as needed.
