Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Products & Services team, owning design, manufacturing readiness and lifecycle support for Mechanical (Cooling) infrastructure in AWS data centers worldwide.

You will collaborate with internal partners and external suppliers to ensure product reliability, drive improvements, and lead engineering ownership through the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience developing Mechanical and/or Mechanical Cooling Products.
  • 4+ years of project experience with cooling systems or components.
  • Knowledge of critical data center or mission critical mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical components and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Possess strong engineering judgement and ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
  • Are detail and data oriented
  • Have experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or Mechanical Products
  • Work with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers
  • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g. reliability, operations, design, compliance)
  • Work on concurrent projects, in multiple geographic zones
  • Understand and explain complex systems in clear and concise language
  • Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Listen to the voice of the customer to understand if there are improvements that can be made to increase product reliability or availability.
  • Work with global supplier and manufacturers to design product improvements, and to oversee root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale
