Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Product Lifecycle Mechanical Engineer for AWS Data Centers. You will own mechanical infrastructure support, engage with product development, and lead lifecycle ownership for cooling products deployed globally.

Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally may be needed. The role requires hands-on mechanical engineering experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve product reliability and availability

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of critical data center or mission-critical mechanical and electrical equipment; hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • 4+ years developing Mechanical and/or Mechanical Cooling Products and launching them into production.
  • 4+ years of project experience with cooling systems or components.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management and related systems.
  • Strong collaboration with global suppliers and manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations based on engineering judgement amid uncertainty.
  • Be detail- and data-oriented in analyses and reporting.
  • Work with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Build trust with reliability, operations, design, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Lead concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones.
  • Explain complex systems in clear, concise language.
  • Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analyses, maintenance, and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Capture customer feedback to drive product reliability improvements.
  • Oversee design improvements with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Contribute to global knowledge and drive continuous improvement at scale.
