JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. in Cincinnati is seeking an Import Specialist to process air and ocean import shipments, ensure compliance, and provide proactive service to customers. You will handle documents, bookings, invoicing, and costing while coordinating with vendors and overseas offices.

The role demands strong organization and communication within a team environment. The position focuses on imports knowledge, ISF awareness, and strict adherence to regulations, with daily office-based duties

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience handling imports (air and/or ocean).
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures.
• ISF (Importer Security Filing) knowledge is preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, review and process import documents (classifications, invoices, etc.).
• Receive and track bookings, update clients on shipment status and PODs.
• Bill/invoice files to customers, manage payment terms.
• Resolve payables with vendors and overseas offices.
• Provide accurate job costing forecasts and maintain accruals.
• Dispatch freight, maintain trucking communications, ensure on-time delivery.
• Report on customer performance and escalate issues when needed.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies.
