Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Import Specialist to process air and ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with US customs regulations and delivering high-quality service to customers.

You will handle document preparation, bookings, shipment status, and invoicing while coordinating with internal teams and overseas offices. The role requires at least 3 years of import experience, familiarity with ISF and Incoterms, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience handling imports (air and/or ocean) or combination of education and expertise required.
• Experience and knowledge regarding imports, compliance, rules and regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures; ISF knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process import documents (classification, invoices, etc.).
• Receive and track shipments, update status, dispatch for delivery, collect POD, cost and invoice files.
• Bill/Invoice files with attention to payment terms.
• Resolve and reconcile payables with vendors/overseas offices.
• Provide accurate job costing forecasts and responsive customer service.
