Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. seeks an Import Specialist to manage air and ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal procedures. You will coordinate documentation, tracking, billing, and communications with customers and vendors to meet service levels.

The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience handling imports (air and/or ocean).
• Experience with imports compliance, rules and regulations preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process import documents ensuring accuracy and proper sequence.
• Track bookings/shipments, update customers on status and delays.
• Bill and invoice files with attention to payment terms.
• Coordinate with vendors and overseas offices to resolve payables.
• Provide responsive customer service and maintain shipment communications.
• Cross-train to support team members as needed.
