Job summary

Wurth Industry US in Minnesota seeks a Buyer - Import to manage globally sourced materials, negotiate with international suppliers, and optimize total cost of ownership while ensuring trade compliance. This role requires autonomy in supplier selection, order management, and cross-functional collaboration across Logistics, Planning, and Sales.

Responsibilities include leading sourcing decisions, PO management, and continuous improvement of purchasing processes to support a resilient global supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience with international sourcing and import operations.
• Solid understanding of MRP, Incoterms, landed cost analysis, and customs documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing and sourcing decisions for imported materials based on demand, forecasts, lead times, and cost targets.
• Issue and manage purchase orders; negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with global suppliers.
• Monitor trade regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements; ensure compliance and update sourcing strategies.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams to schedule and track international shipments.
• Resolve order discrepancies, delays, and documentation; escalate when needed.
• Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions or alternate sourcing.
• Analyze purchasing data and market trends to inform decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Planning, and Operations to align procurement with business goals.
• Recommend and implement process improvements in purchasing and supply chain workflows.
• Support team continuity and knowledge transfer across the buying group.
