Job summary

Coram AI in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an experienced HR Director and Business Partner to own and scale HR operations as we grow across the U.S., UK, and India.

You’ll oversee payroll, compliance, employee relations, performance management, compensation adjustments, policies, benefits, and broader people operations. You’ll manage a small HR team and partner closely with leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple functions.
• Experience with a growing org of 200–500 employees and multi-country scope.
• Experience managing a 2–3 person HR team.
• Strong operations, employee relations, performance management, compensation and payroll.
• Experience partnering with executives on workforce decisions.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup with evolving priorities.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.
• Onsite work availability and flexibility for UK/India teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve day-to-day HR operations with scalable processes.
• Develop and lead a small HR team across countries and time zones.
• Learn and refine existing HR infrastructure, policies, and programs.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, onboarding/offboarding, and core HR ops.
• Refine performance management cycles and manager enablement.
• Partner with leadership on compensation, promotions, and org changes.
• Advise on complex employee relations and investigations.
• Ensure HR compliance across states and countries.
• Maintain and update handbooks, policies, and SOPs.
• Oversee audits: payroll, I-9s, benefits, OSHA, ACA.
• Collaborate with Finance and Recruiting on headcount planning.
• Evaluate HR tech stack and drive automation.
• Use data to surface trends and inform decisions.
• Remain hands-on when needed.
