Job summary

Overview.ai is seeking a hands-on HR leader to build and scale our global HR function from the ground up. You will own global compliance, China HR, and HR operations across multiple countries while partnering with leadership on strategy and policy.

This role reports to the Head of Global Recruiting, requires travel up to 40%, and offers high autonomy to shape how the company grows across North America, APAC, and Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR with hands-on compliance and operations.
• Direct China HR experience, including labor contracts, social insurance and housing fund, and local labor law.
• Global HR compliance across multiple countries, including employment law, contracts, and statutory benefits.
• US HR compliance across federal and multi-state requirements.
• Has built HR processes or programs from scratch at a scaling company.
• Operates as a hands-on executor, not just an advisor.

Responsibilities

• Own employment compliance across every country we operate in; find gaps and close them.
• China HR for the China team, partnering with Shanghai HR & Admin Manager on day-to-day execution.
• Design scalable processes for onboarding, offboarding, contracts, leave, payroll inputs across countries, and performance management/review processes.
• Build a global policy framework and handbook with country-specific addenda.
• Partner on international expansion, including entity vs. EOR decisions and employment setup.
• Be the go-to resource for managers on employee relations, performance, and policy questions.
• Keep employee data, contracts, and records accurate, reportable, and audit-ready.
• Manage EOR, payroll, benefits, and employment counsel relationships.
