Rolls-Royce is seeking a Service Technician to perform independent service, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of mtu engines and propulsion systems at customer sites across North America and beyond. The role demands high autonomy, planning, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.

The position emphasizes mentoring junior staff, contributing to product development, and maintaining service documentation in challenging marine and industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 2 years mechanical or technical trade school with 3+ years of field service experience on large diesel engines or a related field.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of field service experience with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting on large diesel engines or related field.
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency required; must be eligible to work without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Travel domestically and internationally 70-100% of the time to customer sites.
• Lead field service execution: service, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul engines, propulsion systems, and electronic controls.
• Plan jobs, coordinate vendors, prepare work estimates, and manage logs and documentation.
• Investigate field failures, write technical reports, and contribute to service manuals and bulletins.
• Mentor junior personnel and maintain up-to-date technical currency.
