Outstanding People International is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance & Assembly Technician in Ponchatoula, LA. This full-time, mid-senior level role blends workshop operations with field service, including travel up to 20% and international assignments.

The position prioritizes hands-on mechanical skills, experience with gearboxes and winches, and strong customer communication. No visa sponsorship is offered; relocation assistance is limited.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience, with a focus on gearboxes and winches.
• Experience with troubleshooting and mechanical repairs.
• Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems / drive technology.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• ERP/Sage and MS Office experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, maintain, overhaul, troubleshoot and repair gearboxes and winches.
• Plan and coordinate workshop repair and service activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, materials, spare parts, and workshop resources.
• Perform quality inspections and ensure work meets standards.
• Support customers with repair updates and technical requirements.
• Perform repairs and troubleshooting at customer sites when required.
• Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations.
• Support continuous improvement in quality, safety, and productivity.
