Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer for industrial automation and international deployments in the Menomonee Falls, WI area. The role combines precision shop testing with hands-on field deployments, including FAT/SAT, high-voltage panel work, and multi-axis drive setup.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the equipment lifecycle, lead FAT at production, and coordinate global client installations, with significant travel and autonomy in a modern, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on machinery service/commissioning experience.
Ability to read multi-page electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics with minimal oversight.
Willingness to travel 40–70 days per year and possess a valid passport.
Strong customer-facing communication and field service logging skills.
Local commute to Menomonee Falls, WI and a mechanical/electrical field service toolset.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site machinery installations, system integrations, and SAT at client facilities worldwide with operator training."
Diagnose faults in electro-mechanical systems and implement lasting technical solutions using multi-page schematics.
Deploy PLC/HMI software, verify parameters, and work in high-voltage control panels and drives.
Spearhead internal FAT procedures prior to shipment to ensure zero-defect quality.
Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) based on field insights to optimize future designs.
Oversee technical setup and electrical hookup for industry trade shows.
