Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Export Specialist to facilitate movement of products out of the country via ocean and air freight.

The role involves providing customer service on bookings, rates, document production, and problem solving in line with company policies and international laws. Essential functions include preparing export documentation, tracking shipments, communicating with authorities and clients, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience handling exports (air and/or ocean) or combination of education and expertise.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages preferred.
• Experience with aerospace or aircraft engine exports and export controls is a plus.
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures.
• Experience in freight forwarding industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate documentation for export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pickup/transfer and monitor status.
• Communicate with export authorities, customers and suppliers worldwide.
• Obtain spot rates as needed and communicate with overseas agents.
• Track shipments and update customers and agents on status.
• Create and maintain customer files; generate invoices and approve payables.
• Audit files for accuracy and completeness; ensure data entry and uploads are correct.
