Job summary

JAS Worldwide in Dallas seeks an Export Specialist to facilitate outbound shipments via ocean and air freight in compliance with laws and company policies. You will handle bookings, documentation, and customer service related to rates, invoices, and problem resolution.

The role requires 3+ years in exports, knowledge of US customs, and strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration across teams and territories is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience handling Exports (air and/or ocean) or combination of education and expertise required.
• Experience managing aerospace or aircraft engine exports with knowledge of applicable export control requirements and international shipping processes.
• Fluency in English required, additional languages preferred
• Exposure to the freight forwarding industry is a plus
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate the necessary documentation for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all export activities
• Coordinate cargo pick up/transfer and monitor status
• Communicate with export related authorities, customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities
• Obtain spot rates when necessary
• Communicate/correspond with overseas agents and clients in a timely manner, to include: pre-alerts, rate requests, shipment status, etc.
• Track shipments and update customers/agents of status
• Create and maintain customer files
• Create customer invoice and approve payables
• Audit files to ensure accuracy and completion
• Ensure accurate data entry and document upload into the system
• Assist other departments/divisions as needed, or when requested by department or branch manager
• Other duties as assigned
