Job purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing PHINIA Global Operation Excellence team as an Environmental Engineer Manager. This position will support and further development of the environmental and energy management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for further development of the environmental and energy management system in cooperation with the specialists and managers as well as lead implementation of projects related to environmental protection and energy management globally.
  • Expansion, maintenance and upkeep of the environmental & energy management system as well as introduction of methods, instructions, procedures and criteria required for a functioning environmental management system
  • Supporting compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in the area of environmental protection
  • Improving environmental protection and reducing energy consumption on all Sites, Tech Center and sales offices of PHINA by implementing and supporting appropriate projects for your site counterparts
  • Continuous reduction of environmental impacts and continuous maintenance of the environmental management system
  • Integration of environmental management into an integrated operational management system
  • Supporting and advising plant management, managers, specialist departments and committees in all areas of environmental protection Benchmarking PHINIA’s Global footprint
  • Coordinating the functions of the waste and water
  • Maintaining and further developing the environmental management system (ISO 14001)
  • Implementation & organization of internal audits and inspections
  • Coordination and cooperation with environmental protection and occupational safety authorities
  • Cross-departmental cooperation in a local EHS team

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor of Science degree required, preferred disciplines environmental engineering or related field
  • 5+ years experience working with environmental compliance, regulations
  • Experience as an environmental engineer responsible for planning and implementing all project-related activities, including preparing required plans and reports
  • Good verbal and written knowledge of English, any other language is a plus
  • Willingness to Travel 25% domestically and internationally
