Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Senior Director, Global Engineering to lead the worldwide engineering function, driving capital project execution, site engineering, and digital transformation across manufacturing and filtration sites. This role emphasizes PSM compliance, safety, and scalable, data-driven operations, with 25% travel.

Responsibilities include developing strategy, governing global capital programs, and enabling enterprise-wide OEE improvements while partnering with IT and operations leaders

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive engineering and operations leadership experience in chemical, life sciences, or similarly regulated environments.
• Proven experience leading global engineering organizations and capital portfolios.
• Strong background in process engineering and discrete automated manufacturing systems.
• Proven expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global engineering strategy aligned with Avantor's growth objectives and operational excellence standards.
• Oversee a diversified global capital portfolio, including Programs up to $50M and Capital projects up to $150M.
• Drive digital transformation, IT/OT strategy, and Industry 4.0 modernization across sites.
• Lead global engineering talent, workforce planning, and organizational development.
• Ensure EHS/PSM compliance and embed safety and risk-based decision making into engineering strategy.
