Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Product Design Engineer for the Electrical Products and Services team to design and develop resilient power distribution products and UPS systems for AWS data centers worldwide.

The role requires leading design from concept to implementation and collaborating with internal and external partners. You will work with cross-functional teams across engineering, testing labs, suppliers, and field teams, travel up to 30%, and ensure compliance with codes across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
• 5+ Years of experience of Electrical Product Design for Power Distribution Equipment or UPS
• 5+ years of Data Center or Mission-Critical Design, Construction, or Operations
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative concepts into new products needed for power distribution for data center.
• Lead new product design, development and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, reliability, QA/QC and compliance teams to create well thought out products.
• Create designs that meet quality requirements while delivering ROI.
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify electrical equipment and bill of materials.
• Ensure compliance with codes across different countries.
• Prepare and approve product design drawings and electrical BOMs and layouts.
• Define project scope and provide technical support during manufacturing phases.
• Coordinate with field engineering and commissioning teams to test processes and validate installation and performance.
• Lead international projects and manage engineering information packages.
