Job summary

Amazon is seeking a technology manager to lead a diverse team responsible for global data center operations and cloud infrastructure support. The role focuses on people management, strategic planning, and delivering technical solutions to keep AWS data centers running efficiently.

You will mentor staff at all levels, sponsor projects, and drive improvements across hardware, network diagnostics, and operations while participating in on-call rotation and travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators
• Lead a diverse team of data center operation professionals across locations
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations including queue management and 24/7 shift arrangements
• Serve as SME across data center operations and drive process improvements
• Manage large-scale events (outages) and act as call leader
• Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations
• Document and enforce policies to meet SLAs and industry best practices
• Maintain on-call schedules and vacation coverage
• Enhance customer experience through service quality improvements
