Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a technology manager to lead a team responsible for cloud infrastructure within AWS Data Center Operations. You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, and devise strategies to improve hardware, networking, and operational processes.

The role involves on-call rotation, travel to sites, and collaboration with software, hardware, and network engineers to ensure safe, reliable and cost-efficient data center operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math or equivalent
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities or production facilities

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators
• Manage performance of a diverse data center operations team across locations
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations, queue management, and shift coverage
• Ensure operational KPIs and metrics are tracked and met
• Lead large-scale events (outages) and act as the call leader
• Improve workflows and drive automation in data center operations
