Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Ohio seeks an experienced technology manager to lead a data center operations team responsible for cloud infrastructure supporting global centers.

You will mentor staff, sponsor projects, and design technical solutions while coordinating hardware and network diagnostics and on-call rotations. The role requires travel between facilities, strong people skills, and the ability to drive strategy and process improvements across AWS data centers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/Math or equivalent
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities or production environments

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage performance of a diverse team across multiple locations
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels
• Ensure day-to-day data center operations including queue management and shift coverage
• Maintain and improve data center workflows and KPIs
• Lead large-scale outage events and act as call leader
• Develop career paths and update internal tools
• Propose policies and procedures to meet SLAs and industry best practices
• Maintain on-call schedule and coordinate staff vacations
• Strive to improve customer experience and service quality
