Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging seeks a senior engineer to manage complex capital projects in PET preforms and rigid containers, overseeing multiple sites from concept to qualification with responsibility for productivity, timing and budget.

The role supports manufacturing productivity and cost-reduction efforts, requiring seven+ years in plastics packaging, strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration, and frequent travel (~60%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital budgeting.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans meeting cost and timing.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment and workflows.
• Publish weekly project status reports and resolve issues.
• Maintain technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants to monitor long-term project performance.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
