Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a senior engineer to manage complex capital projects in PET preform and rigid container manufacturing across multiple sites. You will lead feasibility studies, budgets, and schedules, ensuring safety, environmental, and cost requirements are met.

Travel about 60% to support sites and drive productivity. Ideal candidates hold a BS in mechanical or electrical engineering with 7+ years in plastics packaging, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven+ years engineering experience in plastics packaging with seven years in project management.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with supervising direct reports.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Incorporate corporate safety and environmental requirements into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action plans with input from regional directors and plant managers.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment; develop upgrade plans.
• Analyze costs and performance of equipment, tooling and workflow; evaluate vendors.
• Communicate and resolve project timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Create and maintain technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to monitor long-term project performance.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel approximately 60%.
