Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a seasoned Capital Projects Manager to lead complex PET preform and rigid container initiatives across multiple sites. You will review products from a manufacturing standpoint, manage projects from conception to qualification, and ensure productivity, timing, and budget targets.

You will support cost reduction efforts within manufacturing locations and travel extensively to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years engineering experience in plastics packaging with 7+ years project management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple resources and direct reports.
• Independent work capability and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and provide support for the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action implementation plan meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements and plan upgrades.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment including tooling and workflow.
• Publish weekly project status reports outlining progress and issues.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation.
• Coordinate with plants to understand long-term project performance and issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
