People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Import Coordinator to join its busy freight forwarding team in New Jersey. The role covers import shipments from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and high levels of customer service.

Key duties include coordinating air and ocean shipments, customs clearance, liaising with overseas partners, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience in air and/or ocean imports within freight forwarding.
• Solid knowledge of import procedures and customs documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage air and ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines and hauliers.
• Arrange customs clearance and ensure all documentation is accurate.
• Track shipments and provide customers with regular updates.
• Coordinate collections and deliveries with transport providers.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve shipment issues or delays.
• Prepare and check import documentation, including bills of lading and air waybills.
• Ensure shipments are processed in line with company procedures and customs regulations.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
