Job summary

MissionHires is seeking a hands-on Air & Ocean Freight Coordinator to manage end-to-end air freight shipments while supporting complex sea import operations. This role is ideal for an experienced freight forwarding operator with recent air freight experience as their primary focus, strong sea import knowledge, and mandatory CargoWise expertise.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years hands-on air and sea freight operations experience required.
• Recent air freight focus with no emphasis on ocean-only background.
• Strong sea import operations experience, with imports ~70% and exports ~30%.
• Hands-on CargoWise experience is required.
• Working knowledge of AES, TSA requirements, and air freight documentation.
• Knowledge of AMS, ISF, FMC, and IMDG certifications is a plus.
• Experience with bonded freight, FTZ, and cross-border operations.
• Vendor network knowledge across terminals and intermodal providers.
• Ability to independently manage multiple active shipments in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Spanish and English bilingual proficiency preferred but not required.
• Experience with aerospace/time-critical/AOG shipments is preferred.
• Experience supporting multiple internal offices or clients is preferred.
• Hazmat/dangerous goods handling in air/ocean freight is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage air freight shipments end-to-end from origin to final delivery.
• Book cargo, coordinate pickups, prepare shipping docs, and billings.
• Support sea import operations including ISF/AMS filings and documentation.
• Coordinate with airlines, ocean carriers, truckers, terminals, customers, and internal offices.
• Monitor shipment milestones, identify delays, and resolve issues to maintain service levels.
• Maintain accurate shipment docs, CargoWise updates, cost records, and billing.
• Assist air freight quotations by assessing routing, transit times, capacity, feasibility.
• Handle priority, bonded, FTZ, cross-border, and other complex shipments.
• Work in onsite, hybrid, or remote arrangements per role model.
