Qualifications

  • 5+ years in business development or strategic growth with proven revenue gains.
  • Deep understanding of data center operations, procurement, and IT asset lifecycle.
  • Existing relationships with data center decision-makers and partner ecosystems (a plus).
  • Able to communicate complex tech to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in identifying client needs and co-creating solutions with partners.
  • Proven negotiator with track record of closing deals.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to plan long-term growth incorporating partners.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven with strong work ethic.

  • Represent ERI at trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Aim to consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director with a proven commercial track record and a strong background in data center lifecycle services. This individual will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities with hyperscale and large data center clients.

This role requires a deep understanding of the data center industry, including the challenges and opportunities related to IT asset lifecycle management. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to drive business growth within the data center sector.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Pro-actively identify and engage hyperscale and large data center clients with significant IT hardware refresh, or decommissioning requirements.
  • Conduct consultative conversations to gain a deep understanding of client needs, challenges, and goals, and offer tailored solutions that align with their requirements.
  • Execute sales plans, both short and long-range, to support sales objectives and develop proposals and RFP responses to secure new business.
  • Collaborate with internal operations, compliance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless project delivery and complete client satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and technology refresh cycles to inform sales strategy.
  • Provide reporting and insights to management on activity, emerging opportunities, and market trends.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
What you need:
  • 5+ years of experience in a business development or strategic growth role with a demonstrable track record of success in acquiring new business and driving revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of data center operations, procurement processes, and IT asset lifecycle management.
  • Existing relationships with key decision-makers within the data center industry and partner ecosystem is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including partners and end clients.
  • Ability to identify client needs and develop creative solutions to address them, working collaboratively with partners to tailor offerings.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close deals that are mutually beneficial for both ERI and our clients.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term growth plans, incorporating the partner ecosystem into the overall strategy.
