Job summary

Brown University is seeking a Gift Compliance Officer to ensure donor intent is captured and gift documentation is accurate. The role focuses on gift agreement development, review, and approval, laying the groundwork for meaningful, long-term stewardship.

You will coach fundraisers and Advancement staff, maintain policy and process documentation, and enter information into multiple tracking systems to keep data correct and actionable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in related fields such as fundraising, higher education, nonprofits, sales, customer service, and/or grant management.
• Strong writing and editing skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate fundraiser requests to guide development of gift documentation.
• Prepare and review gift agreements for approval and donor intent alignment.
• Coach and train fundraisers and Advancement staff on policies and processes.
• Enter and maintain data in tracking systems to ensure accuracy and actionability.
