Job summary

Brown University seeks a Leadership Giving Officer to manage a portfolio of major and leadership gift prospects, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors toward annual and leadership gifts.

The role requires extensive travel, frequent donor meetings, and collaboration with colleagues across Advancement. A Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in fundraising are required; Brown experience is preferred. Hybrid work in Providence, RI is offered with frequent campus interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional fundraising or related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct development experience and exposure to solicitation and gift closure.
  • Brown development experience and knowledge of Brown University strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of major and leadership gift prospects; qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
  • Execute 10–20 comprehensive proposals of $50K+ and secure unrestricted annual gifts.
  • Make 130+ annual visits; staff university administrators and faculty on development visits.
  • Record activities, contacts, proposals, and strategic plans in the donor database; travel regularly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and unit managers across fundraising programs; attend events; occasional evenings/weekends.
