The Gift Compliance Officer ensures that donors have a positiveexperience when philanthropically supporting Brown University.Their primary goal is to lay the groundwork for meaningful,long-term stewardship from the very beginning by facilitating thedevelopment of accurate and consistent gift documentation. TheOfficer plays a key role in gift agreement development, review, andapproval process. Their primary responsibility is to evaluatefundraiser requests in order to guide development of appropriatedocumentation and to prepare agreements for review and finalapproval. This entails verifying that gift agreements capture donorintent and align with University policies and administrativepractices. The Officer also provides basic coaching and trainingfor fundraisers and Advancement staff, including the developmentand maintenance of policy, process, and protocol documentation. Inaddition, they enter and maintain all relevant information in avariety of tracking systems to ensure that information is correctand actionable.
