Pittsburgh Gastroenterology Associates is seeking a detail-oriented GI Procedure Scheduler to join our team. The role focuses on coordinating and scheduling GI procedures, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and a superior patient experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and staff, handling scheduling requests, and maintaining accurate patient records while ensuring insurance requirements and authorizations are in place.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical scheduling or healthcare office preferred.
• Knowledge of GI procedures or specialty scheduling is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Positive and highly motivated to work in teams.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule GI procedures and follow-up appointments per provider and guidelines.
• Verify insurance requirements and obtain prior authorizations.
• Explain prep instructions, procedure details, and logistics to patients.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and staff to maintain efficiency.
• Update patient records in scheduling system.
• Handle calls, messages, and scheduling requests promptly.
