Job summary

Florida Digestive Health Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented Procedure Scheduler to coordinate all aspects of patient procedures across its gastroenterology offices. You will manage scheduling for colonoscopies and endoscopies, communicate preparation instructions, and maintain EMR records with care.

The ideal candidate has experience in medical scheduling, strong organizational and communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience in medical scheduling, preferably in gastroenterology or healthcare.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service-oriented attitude with commitment to patient care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to gastroenterology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for gastrointestinal procedures, including colonoscopies and endoscopies.
• Coordinate with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure accurate scheduling and preparation.
• Communicate procedural instructions and guidelines to patients clearly.
• Maintain accurate EMR records of scheduled appointments and procedure details.
• Address patient inquiries and assist with scheduling changes or cancellations.
• Collaborate with administrative staff to optimize scheduling efficiency and patient flow.
• Follow up with patients to confirm appointments and provide pre-procedure instructions.
• Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by management.
