Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide and coordinate care for residents, addressing physical, psychosocial, and functional needs. The role follows state Nurse Practice Act requirements, maintains licensure, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans.

The RN will administer medications, monitor IV therapy, document in the EMR, ensure safety, and support ongoing staff education and quality care delivery.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited/approved nursing school.
• BSN preferred.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Specialized training or experience in gerontological nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practices nursing care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act; Keeps a current active license.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to define individualized plans of care for residents.
• Mixes TPNs, infusions, ports, IV pushes and related duties within licensure.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors IV fluids and nutrition per orders; IV therapy if certified.
• Maintains documentation and care plans; uses EMR for full clinical records.
• Oversees safety and coordinates with other services to ensure continuity of care.
• Performs rounds; documents resident progress and condition changes.
• Reports incidents in line with state and federal regulations.
