Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused team. The RT will assess residents, initiate therapies, and manage equipment with minimal supervision in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities include documenting care daily, participating in IDT meetings, and providing bedside treatments; prior experience with tracheostomies and long-term care is valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing. BLS certification.
• Experience in long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedures and protocols of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
