Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist for Saturday and Sunday coverage in a skilled nursing setting. The RT will assess and treat geriatric residents, initiate therapies, maintain records, and operate respiratory equipment with independence.

Candidates should have a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, hold an active RRT or CRT license, and be BLS certified.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT and BLS certification.
• Licensed in the state of practice and able to work independently.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
