Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team in New York. The role emphasizes geriatric patient care, independence in evaluation and treatment, and adherence to facility protocols.

Responsibilities include performing assessments, initiating therapies, documenting results, and participating in IDT meetings. Licensure as an RRT or CRT in the practicing state and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed to practice in the state of practice with BLS certification.
• Experience with long-term care and tracheotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Performs related duties as required.
