Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to provide skilled respiratory care for a geriatric population in a SNF setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an active state license (RRT/CRT), COARC-accredited education, be able to assess and treat independently, perform bedside treatments, and document care daily with adherence to facility protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and applies respiratory techniques to rehabilitate patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform a variety of bedside treatments and document daily.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and participate in caseload tracking.
• Handle daily, weekly and monthly documentation and audits.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
