Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The role requires NY-licensed RT or CRT, with weekend Saturday/Sunday coverage and the ability to work independently in a geriatric setting.

You will perform assessments, initiate therapies, manage respiratory equipment, maintain patient records, and participate in quarterly in-services while contributing to residents' comfort and functional recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory technique to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
