Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The role involves Saturday and Sunday coverage, evaluating and treating residents with a passion for geriatrics, and working independently under facility protocols.

Qualified candidates must hold an RRT/CRT license in the practicing state and a COARC-accredited respiratory program degree, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in state of practice.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and applies respiratory techniques to rehabilitate patients with respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and monitor patient progress.
• Participate in nurse staff in-services each quarter.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings as applicable.
• Experience with tracheotomy care.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Track, audit and manage caseloads.
