Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Fort Salonga, NY, is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. Saturday and Sunday coverage is required, with independent assessment and treatment of geriatric residents.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, maintaining records, bedside treatments, and participating in IDT meetings. NY licensure (RRT/CRT) and BLS are required; COARC-accredited education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT; NY licensure required.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and applies respiratory techniques for various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, document and maintain patient records, operate equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and complete in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Attend IDT meetings and manage daily/weekly/monthly documentation.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting preferred.
