Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team for Saturday and Sunday coverage. The candidate must be licensed in New York and capable of evaluating and treating independently, with a passion for geriatric care.

Key duties include initiating therapies, documenting care, operating and maintaining equipment, and performing bedside treatments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedures and protocols of the facility.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
