Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team on weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday). The RT will evaluate and treat geriatric residents independently, maintaining records and ensuring protocols are followed to improve patient experience.

Candidates must hold COARC-accredited Respiratory credentials (AS or BS) and be licensed as RRT or CRT with current BLS. Prior long-term care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to treat and rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
