Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a skilled nursing team on Saturday and Sunday coverage. The role requires licensure in the state and independent assessment, treatment, and documentation of respiratory therapy for geriatric residents.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, equipment management, bedside treatments, and participation in IDT meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
