Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Draper, UT. The role offers 7am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri, with potential for permanent placement after the initial 3-month term.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and maintaining patient information with attention to OSHA and DEP regulations. A minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience and a valid phlebotomy certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check all test requisitions against script to ensure accuracy; package specimens for transport.
