Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking a Phlebotomist for a Draper, UT contract role with a potential path to permanent placement. The role requires blood draws, labeling and handling specimens, with a focus on geriatric patients.

Schedule is typically 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Mon-Fri, with a 3-month projected duration and potential for extension. The ideal candidate has phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a busy lab or hospital environment, and demonstrates adherence to

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges and test orders.
• Check test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to temperature requirements.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer inquiries.
