Job summary

Welcome Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our Los Alamitos clinic, supporting in-clinic, telehealth, and home visits. You’ll handle reception, scheduling, patient inquiries, and insurance verification while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

Ideal candidates have healthcare experience, strong communication, Spanish proficiency, and a willingness to engage in performance-improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification.
• Experience in a healthcare environment working directly with patients, preferably in an out-patient setting.
• Front office and Back office experience strongly desired.
• Multi-phone line and/or multi-channel experience.
• Ability to type 35 wpm or more.
• Data entry experience.
• Prior experience working with older adults (65+) is strongly preferred.
• Medical office: 2 years (Preferred).
• Technical expertise – Strong analytical skills.
• Problem Solving – Basic problem-solving skills.
• Communication – Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic proficiency in MS office products; prior experience using Athena is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred. Test will be administered to assess proficiency if applicable.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Work Area Preparation and Maintenance: Ensures equipment and supplies are maintained, reordered, and stocked as needed.
• Front Office Duties: Provides an effective and efficient reception service, scheduling, demographics verification, co-pays collection and check-out management.
• Customer Service: Responds to needs and expectations in a positive manner; handles complaints professionally.
• Performance Improvement: Identifies opportunities for improvement and participates in PI activities.
• Safety: Maintains a safe and clean environment and adheres to safety protocols.
• Resource Utilization: Manages resources and supplies efficiently.
