Job summary

Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to support geotechnical, geostructural, and related projects. The internship runs May through August 2027 and offers exposure to field work, lab testing, AutoCAD, and GIS under supervision of senior engineers.

Applicants should be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, possess good communication skills, and be willing to perform office and field tasks, including some travel. Valid U.S. driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor's program.
• Good oral and written communication and computer literacy.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field work including subsurface explorations and GPS layout.
• Conduct construction observation and materials testing on sites.
• Carry out laboratory testing.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Support engineers in preparing geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Some travel may be required.
