Job summary

Shannon & Wilson is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to support geotechnical analyses, field investigations, and report writing. The role emphasizes collaboration with clients and project teams on a variety of geotechnical projects.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering and pursuing an MS/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, with 0–6 years of experience and a path toward PE licensure. The position includes field exposure, QA policies, and safety programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering.
• 0–6 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
• On track to a Engineer-in-Training certificate and PE license.
• Experience in soil/rock mechanics, slope stability, and foundations.
• Field observation and reporting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports.
• Conduct field explorations, sampling, reconnaissance, and mapping.
• Provide construction observation and document logs.
• Perform geotechnical lab testing and communicate results.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff; support proposals.
