Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred.
• 0-6 years of Geotechnical Engineering experience.
• Engineer-in-Training certification in process or obtained.
• Pursuit of PE license (on track).
• Experience in soil/rock mechanics, slope stability, foundations, tunneling, seismic design, retaining structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering reports.
• Conduct field explorations, sample collection, mapping, and reconnaissance.
• Engage in construction observation and document logs.
• Perform geotechnical lab testing and communicate results.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Support marketing activities, including cost proposals.
• Adhere to QA, safety, and loss prevention policies.
• Travel to support multiple Shannon & Wilson offices.
